DeshGujarat reported on 18 July 2026 that DICDL plans a 200 million litre a day seawater desalination plant for Dholera and has begun appointing a consultant to prepare a feasibility assessment and a detailed project report.

DeshGujarat reported on 22 May 2026, citing a government press release, that Gujarat will install plus or minus 125 MVAR STATCOM units at six existing 220 kV substations and at the upcoming 400 kV Dholera-2 substation.

A Japanese water industry mission inspected Dholera's water and effluent plants

The India Water Mission delegation, led by JETRO, the Japan Machinery Center for Trade and Investment and Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, visited Dholera on 31 January 2025 and inspected the water treatment plant, the common effluent treatment plant, the sewage treatment plant and the stormwater and distribution systems.
