After a July 2026 review by Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, Dholera International Airport was reported about 80 percent complete, with operations targeted for September-October 2026 and the passenger terminal around 75 percent done.
The runway, taxiways and ATC tower were reported complete earlier in the summer, and the first calibration aircraft landed on 4 June 2026. The original December 2025 target was missed, and opening dates for this airport have slipped repeatedly since planning began, so the September-October window is a target, not a commitment.
Phase 1 is a single 3,200 m Code 4E runway built by DIACL, a joint venture of AAI (51 percent), Gujarat (33 percent) and NICDC (16 percent).
